Clothing Species project is a research about industrialized models and behaviors and a study into other models of consumption, both prompted by the magnitude of consumption waste from products that characterizes our society. One of the results is a collection of five pieces of clothing where minimum cut provide maximum use: ELEMENTUM.

Thesis Abstract:
The constant changes characteristic of fashion, based on capitalism, result in an unnecessarily consumption.
The diversity that fashion provides, meets people's desire of experiencing the new, but also supplies us in a short term with wasteful objects.
Taking in consideration needs, such as seek for variety and personal expression I have questioned the production and consumption of clothing, and I elaborated on the relation between object and subject.
Furthermore I investigated what prevails in our need to consume and how to reverse the actual system of consumption.
Looking upon existing examples but also creating an experimental research methodology, I experienced the relevance of involving the user, his need to take time and to have fewer choices.
By doing so I re-questioned the industrialized models and behaviors, to suggest another model of consumption.
I studied garments that involve users, elementary pieces or 'species' of clothes that undertake evolution, by changing and adapting their performance according to one's desires and needs.
The result originated in ELEMENTUM which are clothing pieces that allow the user to develop new perspectives about his/ her identity expression and consumption.
